We are proud to offer two breeding pens of silver laced orpingtons. One pen is purely ewe crazy farms stock purchased directly from ewe crazy farms who imported their stock directly from europe. The silver laced wyandotte. The breeds we currently have are deathlayers cream crested legbar blue laced red wyandotte english orpington olive eggers 55 flowery hen buf and gold laced brahma.

This breed is known for their beautiful black and white feathers and bright red combs and waddles. Silver laced wyandotte standard and appearance. It can grow as tall as around 3 feet 91cm tall and can weigh about 10 pounds 4 5kg. The silver laced wyandotte were admitted to the american standard in 1883 the first of the wyandotte varieties to do so.

This chicken breed is a jumbo sized bird among other bird breed. Early prototypes were both single and rose combed however the since they were accepted by the american poultry association in 1883 only rose combs were allowed. Hens do tend to go broody and make good mothers with little supervision. Although the exact recipe is unknown we do know that dark brahmas and silver spangled hamburgs were very likely contributors to the silver laced wyandotte.

In total the american poultry association recognizes nine varieties of the large fowl and ten bantam varieties. A contrast in black and white the light brahma is primarily white with a grayish undertone. Our buff laced brahmas were purchased from dan powell lines.
