For non active lots you can set the front door by doing the following.
Sims 3 lock doors mod.
Click on the door and navigate the menu nraas debug enabler options.
Sims can now lock their doors.
Using the unlockcommunitydoors command will no longer unlock doors on tomb lots.
To change the lock style click on a locked door and select a new lock type.

Needless to say this door is not effective in two door bathroom layouts.
